Comme promis avec Musikfamoussinger, je continu ou commence ce blog avec le disco dont voici l'histoire
Aux États-Unis, les années 70 apportent avec elles les soirées en discothèques, qui s'inscrivent rapidement dans le nouveau mode de vie des américains. De son côté, la musique, quelle soit funk, soul, pop ou rock, s'épure et s'agrémente de nouvelles sonorités, celles produites par le synthétiseur. Nous sommes en 1973, le disco est né, même s'il est encore timide.
1976 va être marqué par l'entrée en scène des Village People. Le soir d'Halloween, Jacques Morati, producteur français exilé outre-Atlantique, fait la tournée des boîtes gay et a une révélation lorsqu'il voit les hommes déguisés. Il créé alors les Village People, groupe composé de six garçons : un policier, un indien, un ouvrier en bâtiment, un motard, un GI et un cow-boy. Le succès est immédiat, notamment au sein de la communauté homosexuelle.

Gloria Gaynor
Figure emblématique de la musique disco, Gloria Gaynor est née le 7 septembre 1949 dans le New Jersey, à Newark.
De son vrai nom, Gloria Fowles, elle fait ses débuts avec les Soul Satisfiers, puis se fait connaître au début des années 70, lors d'un passage au Wagon Wheel de New York.
C'est surtout durant cette décennie-là que sa carrière va être fulgurante. Ambassadrice du Segue, une variante du disco, elle va signer de nombreux tubes lors de cette période dorée, New York devenant par là-même la capitale mondiale du disco.
